The SS16, Getting Structure, is a follow up of the Winter Capsule 15, A New Beginning. Moving forward from the sterile and empty mood of the winter collection, Getting Structured is more about exploring, being curious. A new place - opportunities - opening up - letting in. Following the previous collection, the designer developed the inspiration of the carton boxes from the study of their shapes, to how they are assembled, as the base for the construction. The way boxes are overlapping and folded together was transformed into the clothes, making seams that create folds and look to be laying loosely on top of each other. The “boxy silhouette” from the winter collection is again used, but for this collection this is shown and made by using french seams, that creates tunnels, on the outside of the garments to emphasise the cuttings. The fabrics used are a combination of different structures and qualities, giving depth and characteristics to each garment and the collection.
